Leaders Nyasa Big Bullets have gone six points clear at the top of the TNM super league as they started their campaign in the second round with a 2-nil win over bottom of the table Nchalo United.
The People’s team beat the lower shire giants on Sunday in a not-so-interesting-encounter that took place at Mulanje Park in Mulanje.
Nelson Kangunje and Mike Mkwate scored for the People’s team who wound up the first round without defeat, to give them hope of winning the title this season.
Nchalo played well especially in the second half but scoring remained a very big problem for the lower shire giants as they kept on squandering scoring opportunities.
After the game their coach McDonald Yobe blamed missed opportunities for the loss while his counterpart Rogers Yasin was delighted with the victory but praised the opponents for displaying a beautiful performance.
He said, “It wasn’t an easy game, you know our opponents are fighting relagation and they really wanted to win today. We just made sure that we utilize our chances and we just thank God we got the two goals and the much need three points.”
Elshewhere TN Stars started their fight for relegation with a 2-nil victory over fellow rookies Karonga United in a game that was played at Kasungu stadium.
In Chitowe, goals from Vincent Nyangulu and Babatunde Adeboye gave Master Security another 2-nil victory over the struggling Mafco FC.
