Malawi’s vice president Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima will today make a statement of what his future holds on the Malawi Political scene. Chilima will say this on an exclusive interview which he has given to private broadcaster Zodiak.
According to Zodiak , Chilima will tell the nation of what has been happening behind the scenes since June 6 when he announced that he was had quitting the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
In the exclusive interview that will be aired from 7:30 this evening, Chilima details to Gospel Kazako his concerns with growing corruption in the public service, direction of reforms and youth development.
In the interview, Kazako seeks to know whether Dr. Chilima has officially resigned from the DPP and what the vice president thinks about assertions he is playing holier than thou on corruption allegations.
Dr. Chilima addresses whether he is ready to face Mutharika and Chakwera in 2019 presidential polls.
The interview, which will be aired on radio, on TV and online will also bring to bear interests that some political groups and entities have shown to have Chilima join them ahead of general elections next May.
Vice president Dr. Chilima will also discuss his faith as a member of the Catholic Church and address fears that the Church is being political and backing his apparent leadership ambitions.
This time around, Chilima is speaking using no parables or metaphor.
