Ethel Kamwendo to release three new albums

One of the country’s celebrated gospel artists Ethel Kamwendo Banda has said preparations for the launch of her new three albums are almost complete.

Kamwendo, having last released an album six years ago has resurfaced on the music seen with the release of three new albums.

“We are launching the three albums starting with Lilongwe on 30 November at the Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC). After that we will take the launches to Blantyre at Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel on 7th December and thereafter after it will be the turn for Mzuzu city fans”, said Kamwendo in an interview on Thursday.She said the Blantyre show will be preceded by a dinner.

According to Kamwendo, apart from Joseph Tembo and South African producers OPJ who produced the other two albums, the other album was produced by her own son Peter.

“We will be launching three albums; Moyo Wanga which was produced by OPJ in South Africa, Ndiri Pamzere by Joseph Tembo and my son Peter produced Ndinu woyera at our home studio. I featured my son Peter in one of the songs and fans to the launches will be able to see him perform alongside me”, she said.

It has taken Ethel Kamwendo about two years to complete recording the three albums as work begun in 2016.

“We took time to produce the albums because we wanted to come up with superb works. The songs contained in these albums will undisputably turn people to embrace Jesus as their saviour” she said.

She also said during the albums’ launch in all the three venues there will be a short documentary on her musical career.

“I have come a long way in music and we have produced the short documentary about my life both as a musician and an individual. People who will come to the launches will watch the documentary,” said Kamwendo.

She also disclosed that she has lined up top musicians to ensure people to the show get value for their money.

“And all the albums will be sold during the launch”, she said.

Ethel has several albums as a gospel musician such as Amen Yesu Wandimasula, Yesu Amayankha, Sindiri Ndekha, Hossanah, Ndiumboni, Ambuye Wazatheka bwanji, Ndinu Nokha, Zabwino zonse and Mwatikondera.
