Flames open camp ahead of Chan qualifiers

Malawi national team-The Flames began preparations for the 2018 Africa
Nations Championship(Chan) in Chiwembe on Monday with 24 players
attending the first training session.

Yet to report is Mafco FC captain Paul Ndhlovu who was expected to
join his friends later in the day.
Training will continue at the venue on Tuesday and the team will subsequently travel to Kenya to play a
friendly match with the country’s national team before proceeding to

Meanwhile Kamuzu Barracks midfielder Dave Banda has been named captain
of the Flames squad and he is deputised by Be Forward Wanderers
defender Lucky Malata.
The Flames start away to Madagascar in a two- legged first round
encounter on the weekend of April 20-22.

The second leg will be played a week later on the weekend of April
28-30 and the winner will play Mozambique in the second round in July.
The 2018 Chan finals will be held in Kenya.
