Kufewa Acrobatics Group has partnered with Maestros Leadership Team to create a schools bursary which will help needy students around Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) catchment area in Lilongwe.
Speaking in an interview , Manager for Kufewa Acrobatics, Dennis Imaan, said as a way of giving back to the community for the support that the institution gets, Kufewa Acrobatics decided to give out the scholarships.
“So we can up with the Kufewa Scholarship which will be managed by the Maestros Leadership Team and presented by Kufewa Creatives. We will host shows and a percentage of the proceeds will go towards our scholarship fund.
“We will also have a way where any well wishers can contribute from anywhere,” said Imaan.
Kufewa is an Acrobatics group which enjoys a wider audience across the country and beyond. Their performances attract attention of both the old and the young.
Their film, The Town Monger, has made them a darling of everyone who comes across the film. The Town Mongermovie was shot and produced on a budget in Malawi’s Lilongwe Township by a group of seasoned street acrobatics.
“The beneficiaries of the bursary are already identified by Maestros and the target is to raise MK335, 000 for these beneficiaries. Our target students are young people who are very clear about their future and ready to take the challenge.
“We are starting by supporting students who lack school fees,” said Imaan.
