MCP fulfills it’s promise to Mzuzu University students

Malawi Congress Party on Friday night donated two Plasma TVS and two DSTV decorders with three months subscription to MZUNI students.

The donation was in fulfilment of a promise made by the party when newly elected NEC members visited The institution on June 3.

The handover ceremony was done by the party’s National Youth Director, Hon Richard Chimwendo Banda, the Publicity Secretary, Rev. Maurice Munthali, Hon. Wazamazama Katatu, a NEC member and Hon Clement Manda the Regional Youth Director of North South region.

The party is on a nationwide campaign to engage the youth to realize their centrality in the cause of rebuilding our country and share with them the vision of Malawi Congress Party under the leadership of Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

Speaking on behalf of Mzuni MCP wing, Edgar Jembemzero, who is the Chairperson, said “the coming of party officials was a relief to Mzuni MCP wing as some people were of the view that the promise will not be fulfilled.  Other parties have been treating the students as campaign tools. Most politicians dont fulfilling their promises. Malawi Congress Party believes in telling people what is practical and achievable”.

Taking his turn, the Mzuni students union President Crispin Limbani Banda, began with an emphatic MCP slogan, Kwachaaa, as a way of celebrating the party’s fulfilment of its promise. “Mzuni continues to face numerous social challenges.  Social life of students is incomplete. Just imagine all along we had only one Plasma screen against a population of 4000 students combining those on campus as well as ODL students” he emphasizes.

The students union leader further indicated that fulfilment of the promise shows how set MCP is to provide servant leadership that will rescue this country and solve the plight of youths across the country.

“MCP has the vision to rebuild the education sector that has lost its desired standards.” He added.

He then asked the Mzuni students to ssy thank you for the donation by registering and vote for Dr. Lazarus Chakwera next year.

Taking his turn, Wazamazama Katatu reminded Mzuni students how previous governments have neglected the only Public University in the North.

“The DPP government denied Mzuni a college bus despite several appeals when I was the students union Leader. Why does the government continue to give a blind eye to Library problem? When will they fix it?” He added.

In his remarks, the MCP Publicity Secretary Hon Rev. Munthali reminded Mzuni students that MCP is set to serve the country in a manner that all people in this country will have equal opportunities.

“Malawi remains a good country with untapped potential but we lack visionary leadership to give this country direction. Let me assure you that  Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will restore lost hope and aspirations of many frustrated Malawians and youth in particular.” He said

The guest at the function Hon. Chimwendo Banda emphasized that this country can only change if Malawians decide to vote for Malawi Congress Party and it’s President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, who he described as a Leader of integrity and vision.

“In the coming elections, don’t replace the DPP government with those who have been part of this government. They have caused alot of damage to our country. We have a good option and that’s MCP and  Dr. Chakwera”, he said.

“This donation is an expressing of MCP’s commitment to attend the needs of Malawians once voted in power next year. MCP will fix the education system. Accommodation and student welfare will improve, academic facilities will be given a priorities.” He added

As the youth we must all strive to see Malawi we need.

He concluded with an appeal to Mzuni students and all youth in this country to register and vote for MCP next year
