Be Forward Wanderers striker Ishmael Thindwa has signed a second new
contract extending his stay at Lali Lubani road side until 2019.
Thindwa signed a one-year contract last season but has now signed a
new deal to stay for an extra two years. The player, who has featured
the Nomads in recent frendlies and scored in the just ended Wafawafa
Bonanza, put pen to paper on Saturday 2nd April 2017, ahead of the
Wanderers vice General Secretary Gift Mkandawire said: “Ishmael has
deserved the current contract as he has proved that he is an
important member of the squad. He has continued to develop a greater
understanding of many aspects of the game and is willing to put both
the time and effort that is required to be successful in his career.”
Thindwa was a free agent from mid-january after his one year contract
with Wanderers expired.
Wandrers’ rivals Nyasa Big Bullets were also searching for Thindwa’s
signature but his manager Roy Mdechi opted for Wanderers.
“We had meetings with both Wandrers and Bullets but we have opted for
Wanderers as one way of thanking them for taking care of him when he
was nursing an injury last season.” said Mdechi.
