Vice President Jane Ansah yesterday received the Women Manifesto from organizations under the Women Manifesto Movement in Lilongwe, describing the engagement as a crucial platform to address persistent challenges affecting women and girls across the country.
The manifesto highlights key areas of concern, including access to justice, maternal health, and gender-based violence – issues that the Vice President acknowledged as urgent priorities.

“I appreciate the continued efforts by women rights advocates and development partners in championing the empowerment of women,” Ansah said.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment under the leadership of His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, noting that investing in adequate staff and infrastructure is essential to effectively tackling these challenges.
The Vice President also called on all stakeholders advocating for women’s empowerment to remain united and focused as they work toward creating a society where every woman has equal opportunities to thrive.
The Women Manifesto Movement brings together civil society organizations pushing for policy reforms and stronger implementation of gender-responsive programs.
