By Hastings Wadza Kasonga Jr

Eagles are failing to fly in the 2023 TNM Super League season just as they did last season as they came out as runners up and this has called for an immediate operation at the team.

The Area 30-based side, Blue Eagles have called for a meeting of teamms officials, players and coaching panel on Wednesday to sort out problems affecting the team in a poor run of results this season.

This comes after the team’s head coach, Eliya Kananji, asked for an emergency meeting of the team’s stakeholder after getting stuck in the relegation zone of the team.

After their 0-1 loss to Moyale Barracks, Kananji said things are abnormal as they have a usual complaint in every game and team officials need to talk to players.

“It’s something that I’m also failing to explain, we are creating chances but failing to score and I think bosses need to talk to the players secretly maybe there’s a problem which needs to be solved,” said Kananji after the loss.

The team sit 15th on the log table with 17 points after having three wins only in 18 games they have played this season. Since the start of the second round, the team has collected only a point, a 2-2 home draw against Blue Eagles but have lost away to Silver Strikers and at home against Moyale Barracks.

After a disciplinary committee meeting on Monday, the Association has decided to ban the team for a period of 12 months as the referees were treated at the hospital following the attack.

Meanwhile, the Association has advised all teams to refrain from the acts saying they are unnecessary in the game of Football.

“Beating or bullying is a serious case that can lead to end of life of stake holder in the beautiful game of football. Therefore clubs need to follow rules and regulations to stop the display of unsporting behaviors,” the conclusion part of the letter reads.

Bwabwa United has been given 48 hours if they would like to appeal against the decision.

They become a second team to receive such punishment from the Association after Chintheche United was banned for two years for committing similar offences.

The country’s football mother body, Football Association of Malawi(FAM) is on a mission of inspecting the conditions of Stadia in the country following increasing claims of poor standards of the facilities.

FAM banned two Stadia, Mzuzu and Civo, from hosting high profile matches due to poor standards and this week, it is inspecting the legendary Kamuzu Stadium.

The facility was banned from hosting international matches by Confederations of African Football(CAF) last year and FAM barred it from hosting top games in the league this season despite Super League of Malawi (SULOM) defying the rules as it hosted the much anticipated Blantyre derby.

Meanwhile, fingers are crossed for the people in Blantyre as they wait for the outcomes of the inspection report to be released by the body in the coming two weeks.

The facility has dangers to cause accidents as its stands are having cracks and are closed in some parts of them.

Last week, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers head coach, Mark Harrison, complained about the status of the Karonga Stadium on which he said its equally bad as the Mzuzu Stadium.

The country has stadia such as Karonga, Kasungu, Chitowe, Silver, Nankhaka, Dedza, Bingu National, Balaka, Mangochi, Mulanje, Mpira and Kamuzu as those that host top flight games in the country.

President of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, has advised the Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) to join Malawi first for a renewed trust that they are walking together with the suffering Malawians.

Jumah has described the HRDC as dead woods claiming that during the DPP reign, they gave pressure to the DPP and its leader Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika but for three years of the MCP led Tonse Alliance in government, they are sleeping.

He has condemned the HRDC for issuing a statement calling for President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera to fire non- performing ministers describing this as wanting to fool Malawians that they are with them while the truth of the matter is that they are part of the MCP.

Speaking through his face book page followed by millions of Africans across the continent, Jumah said the statement released by the HRDC is just a trick to confuse and fool Malawians for Malawi First not to go to the streets of State House on the 30th August, 2023.

Jumah said Muvi wa Chilungamo is supporting initiatives of liberating Malawi from the jaws of the MCP led government claiming that government is not listening to the cries of the citizens as Malawians are in deep pain and suffering.

He said Malawi needs citizen voices for government to wake-up observing that President Chakwera and his ministers are sleeping on duty as if everything is good on the ground, they care nothing for the country and its citizens what they care most, are their pockets.

The MRP President has appealed to opposition political parties in the country to support activists when they are going to the streets on the 30th August, 2023 advising them that activists are fighting for them to win the coming elections.

He has advised the authorities in Malawi to allow activists present their petition to the President who was elected and is employed by the citizens holding the highest office of the land in line with the constitutional requirement of 100 meters.

“Activists are going to the State House to voice out Malawian concerns for Chakwera to listen to the cries of Malawians , they don’ have any other country apart from Malawi,’’said Jumah.

He expressed hope that President Chakwera after receiving the petition, he will come back to his senses and call for early elections in Malawi but unfortunately he and his Vice President Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima are all aware that if the elections are held today, they will lose.
