Bantu Kamradz set to make a comeback this year

The country’s legendary urban music group ‘Bantu Kamradz’ is set to return from over a decade-long hiatus with new music later this year.- one of the group members Wachituta Thombozi revealed on Friday.

According to Thombozi, the group is currently working on a brand-new project and that people should anticipate good mature music from the group.

“Bantu Kamradz is still there and we are preparing a number of songs aimed for release this year,” says Thombozi.

He further said that the group never disbanded as speculated by some people. He said it has been difficult for group members to record songs because of work and business commitments.


He said, ” Some of us like myself and Wandumi, have been able to work on solo projects but we haven’t been able to come together as a group to compose or record songs. However, due to public demand, we have tried this year to work on afew songs as a group.Currently I am working on an album with my cousin ‘Najo’ but after that, you will be listening to brand new songs from The Kamradz.”

The Bantu Kamradz became very popular in the early 2000s with their hit song ‘Africa’.

Apart from music, the group also made a name with Khalidwe Wear – a clothing line popularly known for making traditional outfit.

The leader and overseer of God’s Will Church of All Nation Prophet Frank Zebron has described Malawi as a cursed Nation following increase cases of money laundering, corruption and fradulent people in various government offices.

Zebron said this in reaction to the recent scandal at Chingeni Toll gate where huge some of money is suspected to be looted by officials.

He added that, Malawi has all it requires to develop but due to rampat corruption, it has swept away all developmental elements to dead shore.

“We need prayers, and political leaders should call men and women of God from all regions of the country to intervene with prayers and ask for proper guidance” he said.

Prophet also pointed out that Malawian leaders should emulate the former Tanzanian President late Pombe Magufuli for his excellent dealing with corrupt malpractices, and fulfilling development promises .

He applauded him for sweeping all evil dealings with much sweated tax payers money, by putting good measures to control fradulent and corruption practices in all working environment.

” Am saying political leaders should take example of late Magufuli in running affairs of this country. Otherwise, we will continue to be cursed with extreme corruption practices” Worried he.

Malawi is one of least developed countries in the world and annually, it registers heavy looting of money by government officials.

Nigerian singer ‘Kizz Daniel’ confirms to perform in Malawi for first time

Renowned Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has confirmed that he will stage his first-ever live performance in the country on August 27 at the Lilongwe Golf Club.

Confirming the news on his social media pages, the singer said Malawians should prepare for a powerful performance this summer at an event called Epic Lifestyle Concert.

The event has been organised by Epic Lifestyle in collaboration with Deejay Chi.

Epic Group CEO, Yollam Kawanga told 247 Malawi that the event will be the birth of one of the biggest Concerts in Africa.

“This will be the birth of one of the biggest African Concerts called Epic Lifestyle Concert. People should expect Big Names from across the globe in the near future,” he said.

The concert will be part of Kizz Daniel’s Classic Tour which will start in London, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester in the United Kingdom.

Formerly known as Kiss Daniel, the 27-year-old singer real-name Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe is best known for his hit singles such as “Woju” and “Yeba”.

Government to commit resources towards Tuberclosis in 2022/2023 budget

Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandondo Chiponda, has urged Malawians to continue seeking Tuberculosis (TB) clinical medical attention as government is committed to inject domestic resources in the quest to suppress TB transmission.

She was speaking at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe, on Thursday during the World TB Day, which was held under the theme ‘Invest to end TB, save lives.’“Global Fund and other give 90 per cent of total services with World Health Organization (WHO) providing technical support. African Drone and Data Academy Programme Closes

The African drone and data academy that was held in Malawi has come to a close, and the organisers celebrated this feat with a closing ceremony. The ceremony saw the presentation of projects that various teams developed during the training These included remote sensing technology during the response to natural disasters, precision agriculture and pest control, and road damage detection using Artificial Intelligence. These technologies will consequently be vital to solving the continent’s problems.

At the event, participants committed to using the technologies to solve problems in their communities. They also committed to transferring knowledge so that more young people in Africa can learn about these technologies, thus helping in the digital inclusion and insertion of their countries in a globalized world.

The academy also obtained various results, including the construction of an unmanned fixed-wing aircraft, EcoSoar model, Drones with vertical take-off capability Model S500, creation of analytical models using DeepLearning to control electrical networks, creation of models for identification, quantification and analysis of palm trees in neotropical regions and the use of Google Earth Engine (cloud computing tool created by google) for large-scale analysis. The training also involved certification in Drone operation (TOP – Trusted Operator Certificate) by the International Association of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (AUVSI).
