TNM Super League: Silver move to 5th on the Log table after beating Wanderers 2-1 on Saturday

Stain Devie steered Silver Strikers to a 2-1 win against Mighty Wanderers in a TNM Super League match played at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.

Duncain Nyoni scored Silver’s first goal in the 60th minute but the visitors equalised in the 77th minute through Muhammad Sulumba.

Davie then capitalized from a communication breakdown between defender Miracle Gabeya and his goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa to score the winning goal for the central bankers for them to move to position five on the log table.

Following the loss, Wanderers are now on position seven with 10 points after playing seven games.



Elsewhere, Blue Eagles consolidated their lead at the top of the TNM Super League following a 2-1 win against Sable Farming on Saturday

Oswald Maonga and Shumacher Kuwali were on target for the league leaders while Sable got their consolation through Emmanuel Lino.

The area 30 side remain top with 22 points from seven games followed by Nyasa Big Bullets who have got 17 points. The People’s team have a chance to narrow the gap as they host Rumphi United on Sunday.

In the capital city, the match between Civil Service United and Kamuzu Barracks ended in a 1-all draw, with both teams mustering a point each.

Christopher Kumwembe and Ndaona Daisi scored for Civil Service United and KB respectively.

On Sunday, apart from the Bullets-Rumphi game, Ekwendeni Hammers will be at Mzuzu Stadium playing 13th placed Moyale Barracks.

Moyale are coming from a 1-2 loss to Nyasa Big Bullets last Wednesday at the same venue.

In another match to be played on Sunday, Karonga United will be at home against Mafco FC as Dedza Dynamos hosts bottom placed TN Stars at Balaka Stadium on Monday.

All set for the ‘Return of Mlaka Maliro’ show in Blantyre

All roads will this Saturday, April 30, lead to Blantyre Sports Club for the long-awaited ‘Return of Mlaka Maliro’ music show.

According to the organisers of the event, ‘Entertainers Promotions’, this is one of the biggest shows that the company has lined up across the country this year.

Entertainers Promotions Director Tonderai Banda said all was set for the Blantyre show and that people should anticipate nothing but great performances by the former Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Church pastor and other artists.

“As Team Entertainers, we are more than ready to give people the best of shows with Mlaka Maliro. Mlaka is one of the best musicians in the country, he has been out of the stage for some time but now he is back. People should come in large numbers and they will not regret ,” he said.

Other artists who are expected to perform at the Blantyre show include Great Angels Choir, Ndirande Anglican Voices,Eli Njuchi, Saul Chembezi and Khuzah Ramphi.

Mlaka who recently gave out a scintillating performance at the Mibawa Multipurpose Hall, is expected to hold another show at the Lilongwe golf club on 11 April before heading to Mzuzu where he is also expected to perform.

Malawi Congress Party Deputy Vice President Harry Mlenjala Mkandawire has endorsed Malawi leader President Dr Lazarus Chakwera torch bearer during the forthcoming party convention.

Mkandawire said this during a development rally at Emvueni Primary School Ground in Mzimba.

Mkandawire said everyone is free to stand during the convention but he was quick to warn that the aspirant is likely to flop there at the convention.

Mkandawire said Chakwera has demonstrated to be a leader who is visionary and does not condone any lies. 

He said every party has a right to support a leader they want and this time around “We have already agreed that our vote at the convention is Dr Lazarus Chakwera.” 

Mkandawire gave an example of Freedom Party (FP) where members there are free to choose a leader they want. 

Chakwera is visiting Northern Region in order to understand state of food security in the region. 

On Friday he visited Lusangazi Dairy Cooperative and Mundunduma Cooperative Aquaculture Farm in Emsizini E.P.A. under Traditional Authority Kampingo Sibande, Mzimba District.

He also inspected crops in Majuwani Mwandira Village, Robert Mseteka Village and Gwaza Hara Village under Zombwe E.P.A. in Traditional Authority Mtwalo, Mzimba District. 

From there he held a developmental Rally at Emvueni Primary School Ground in Mzimba at District.

Bullets beat Moyale 2-1 to move closer to TNM Super League lead

Two second half goals from Precious Sambani and Babatunde Adepoju gave Nyasa Big Bullets maximum points as the people’s team strolled to a 2-1 win against Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium on Wednesday, to close the gap to within 2 points with the league leaders Blue Eagles FC

Sambani scored the first goal for the Ndirande outfit in the 50th minute after connecting a Patrick Mwaungulu’s corner kick.

Babatunde Adepoju scored Bullets’ second in the 63rd minute after receiving a pass from Ernest Petro.

Moyale’s Hassan Upindi pulled one back for the home side in the 76th minute after a beautiful exchanging of passes with Lloyd Njaliwa

The win means that the defending champions have now accumulated 17 points while Blue Eagles have 19 points from the same number of games.

Bullets’ next assignment is against Rumphi United at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday while the League leaders will play Sable Farming FC away at Mpira Stadium on Saturday.

Shammah Vocals’ “Testimony” to premier on Trace Gospel

Shammah Vocals will this coming Saturday, April 30, release new video for his new song, “Testimony,” which is going to be premiered on Trace Gospel.

The singer-songwriter made the announcement on Monday saying people should get ready for a powerful music video and other music projects coming from him this year.



This is Shammah’s first single after a one-year hitus and it’s going to be the first song for the musician to be premiered on Trace Gospel.

“After a year of silence I am back with another jam which will be released on 30th April. It’s my debut video on Trace Gospel and I am sure people will love it,” said the artist, real-name Shammah Stola.


The 25-year-old Blantyre-based artist rose to fame in 2018 after the release of his debut album “No Reverse”.
