Scorchers, Copper Queens’ match abandoned due to bad weather

The match between the Malawi Women Football ‘Scorchers’ and Zambia Women Football team ‘Copper Queens’ was abandoned due to bad weather conditions.

The Scorchers were trailing 1-0 before the abandonment after 21 minutes of play. Avell Chitungu had put the home side in front just some minutes before the stoppage.



Meanwhile Football Association of Zambia has announced that the match will now be played on Sunday at 10 o’clock in the morning.

Brighton Munthali leaves Blue Eagles
Set to join Creck Sporting Club

Flames and Blue Eagles goalkeeper Brighton Munthali has confirmed that he has left the club as speculations continue to rise that he is joining Creck Sporting Club.

In his post on Facebook, Munthali thanked Blue Eagles management,fellow players and supporters for the support they gave him since he joined the Area 30 side.

” As I start a new challenge in life, I would like to appreciate all the good moments I had during the time I have been with Blue Eagles. It has been a very beautiful journey and as I am leaving the club, I will still cherish all those memories,” reads the Facebook post in part.

Munthali however, could not disclose his next destination but some officials at Creck Sporting Club have confided in this publication that the shot stopper is on the verge of joining the club.

Lawyer Gift Nankhuni wins MCP’s Primary elections in Lilongwe

Lawyer Gift Nankhuni will represent Malawi Congress Party (MCP) as the member of parliament for Lilongwe City Centre Constituency after winning the Primary elections that took place at Kamuzu Palace Secondary School on Saturday.



Nankhuni won the elections after accumulating 955 votes against 54 votes of his opponent Mable Moyale Tchongwe.

MCP has this week started conducting Primary elections in the areas where there are no Members of Parliament.

Singer ‘Lamah’ releases new song ‘Chisankho’

Lilongwe-based up-and-coming singer ‘Lamah’ has released a brand new song titled ‘Chisankho’ which promises to be another big tune this year.

The song has been produced by Drue and the video has been directed by DIR Kante.



Signed under TK entertainment, Lamah started music at a tender age but became well known last year with songs like ‘Perfect Match’, ‘Neba’,  ‘Zigwembe’ and ‘Yelele’.

Macelba releases visuals for his song ‘Chosadziwa Part 2’

Hip-hop artist Mazaka Smart Banda popularly known in music circles as Macelba has released a music video for his song ‘Chosadziwa Part 2’ which features singer ‘Leslie’

The video which was released on Friday morning, has been produced by Hendrix Kanchowa of Kanchowa studios.

Chosadziwa Part 2 is taken from ‘After the Silence’ EP which was released in November last year and has popular songs like ‘Ju’ featuring Eli Njuchi and ‘Golide’ featuring Janta.
