All is set for the mid year NPM awards

National Product Magazine (NPM) says all is set for the mid year NPM awards as commencement of voting for nominated companies which will run from April 2 and ends on June 15, 2025.

This will be the 115th edition held under the theme; “Connecting Industries, Fueling Exports: Enhancing Malawi’s Forex Reserves through Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Transport.”



Speaking in an exclusive interview, the magazine Executive Director, Arthur Chinyamula, stated that the awards focus on recognizing outstanding companies in business, agriculture, transport, manufacturing and entrepreneurship.

“We have nominated companies across business, agriculture, transport, manufacturing and entrepreneurship sectors. Our goal is to promote industries and Malawians excelling in these fields,” Chinyamula said.

He emphasized on the need for collaboration among various sectors for the country to achieve stable forex reserves.

Chinyamula added that they have a special category for women.

“We have conducted a rigorous selection process to identify companies, business, products, and entrepreneurs based on their specialization, size, quality, performance, and export records,” he added.

Among the nominated companies, 70% are from Malawi and 30% represent SADC region.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Trade and Industry has praised NPM for organizing the auspicious occasion saying it will help in bolstering manufacturing for exports.

The Ministry through its spokesperson, Patrick Botha highlighted the need for the country to shift into value-added products in inorder to have sustainable foreign exchange.


Botha stresses that for Malawi to have economic gains there is need to embrace the local industry exports.

He therefore commended NPM for playing a key role in supporting the country’s economic growth.
