The Electricity Generation Company (EGENCO) has assured the public that the ongoing maintenance works at the Nkula Hydro Electric Power (HEP) Station are progressing well and are on track to be completed within the scheduled timeframe.
According to Moses Gwaza, Public Relations Officer for EGENCO, the company’s maintenance team is working around the clock to ensure that the exercise is completed on time.
The maintenance works have temporarily removed 135.1 megawatts from the national grid, leading to prolonged blackouts in most parts of the country.
