Tay Grin unveils 11 Malawian artists for cross-border music exchange with Zambia

Malawian award-winning rapper Tay Grin, popularly known as Nyau King, has announced a list of 11 local artists who will participate in a groundbreaking cross-border music and cultural exchange program with Zambia.

The initiative aims to unite artists from both countries to share ideas, experiences and musical styles.

The selected artists include Emmie Deebo, Temwa, Zeze Kingston, Charisma, Saint, Joe Ikon, Gwamba, Lady Aika, Malinga Mafia, Macelba and Onesimus.

According to Tay Grin, these artists were chosen for their talent, influence and contribution to Malawi’s growing music industry.

Tay Grin revealed that the project will officially begin with a grand musical concert in Zambia, where the Malawian artists will perform alongside some of Zambia’s top musicians.

He said the event is expected to create lasting connections between the two music industries and open doors for future collaborations.

“This is more than just music; it’s about cultural exchange and unity.Our goal is to strengthen the relationship between Malawian and Zambian artists and create a platform that benefits both sides equally,”he explained.

He added that the collaboration will also help in promoting tourism and cultural awareness between the two neighboring countries.

Tay Grin believes music can serve as a bridge that connects people beyond borders, fostering regional integration through creativity.

The rapper further explained that every year, 11 new artists will be selected to take part in the program.

“We want this to be a continuous initiative that gives every artist a chance to grow, gain exposure, and learn from others in the region,” he said.

Tay Grin noted that preparations are already underway and they are now waiting for Zambian organizers to release their own list of participating artists.

He expressed excitement about the partnership, saying it marks the beginning of a new chapter for Southern African music.

The artist, known for blending traditional Malawian sounds with modern hip-hop, said his vision is to see Malawi’s music industry gain more international recognition. He believes collaborations like this will boost visibility and attract investment in the creative sector.
