The Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM )has reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting Silver Strikers Football Club as the team gears up for the new season.
Executive Director responsible for Cooperatives at the central bank, Mercy Kumbatira, made the remarks during the club’s 2026/2027 season launch gala held at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Wednesday evening.
Kumbatira said football remains a unifying sport that brings together people from all walks of life, hence the Reserve Bank’s continued support to the club.
However, she cautioned against complacency and challenged the club’s leadership and players to raise their performance levels in the new season.
In his remarks, Silver Strikers board member George Chiusiwa pledged that the club is determined to improve its performance compared to the previous season.
Chiusiwa commended the RBM and other partners for their continued support.
He also called on supporters to remain loyal to the club by purchasing replica jerseys and attending matches in large numbers.
During the event, the club unveiled its new jerseys and officially introduced its partners for the upcoming season.
