Police in Malawi have offered a K30 million reward for information leading to the whereabouts of a British national,Nasrat Osman, who was allegedly kidnapped by unknown people in Mount Pleasant, Blantyre.
According to a statement signed by Malawi Police spokesperson Gladys Chiwaula, Osman was forcibly taken by unknown individuals on September 11, 2026, at around 12:30 p.m.
Police say the suspects allegedly used a grey Nissan Dualis vehicle during the incident.
The vehicle reportedly bears registration number MPS 47, which police have identified as part of the information being used in the investigation.
Police are appealing to members of the public who may have seen Osman or the vehicle around the time of the incident to come forward.
The reward of K30 million will be given to anyone who provides reliable and useful information that can assist police in locating Osman.
Police have urged people with information to avoid confronting or attempting to apprehend anyone they suspect may be connected to the kidnapping.
Instead, members of the public are encouraged to immediately report any relevant information to the police.
Anyone with information concerning Osman’s whereabouts or the vehicle is asked to contact the police on 0999 or 321.
The police appeal comes as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the reported kidnapping of the British national.
