The Second Vice President and President of the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD), Enock Kanzingeni Chihana, has arrived at Nchalo Ground (Pa Bank) in Chikwawa District.
He is expected to address the rally alongside senior leaders of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Among the DPP leaders present are Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Joseph Mathyola Mwanamveka, who also serves as DPP Vice President for the Southern Region, and Charles Mchacha, DPP’s Regional Governor for the South.

Chihana received a warm welcome from the gathering of party officials and local leaders.
They included Mwanamveka, Mchacha, Director of Women Mary Thom Navicha, AFORD Secretary General Linda Limbe, and AFORD Vice President Catherine Makunganya.
Other dignitaries in attendance were Deputy Minister of Education Francis Forey, AFORD Publicity Secretary Annie Maluwa, Paramount Chief Lundu George Quma, Bilal Karim, Ilias Karim, Chikwawa District Commissioner Dr Grace Momba, and Council Chairperson Alexander Watch.
The presence of both AFORD and DPP leaders underscores the collaborative approach and unity of purpose being promoted at the rally.
Chihana’s address is expected to highlight key issues affecting the district and the nation, as well as the continued partnership between political stakeholders and local communities.
The event attracted a large crowd of supporters and community members eager to hear from the leaders on development priorities and political strategies.
The rally in Chikwawa marks another significant political engagement for AFORD and its allies as they continue to mobilise support ahead of upcoming initiatives and electoral activities.
