The much-anticipated Malawi Summer Ball, a gathering of Malawians living in the UK, is set to take place on August 2 in Nottingham. Organized by the MCP UK wing, the event aims to celebrate Malawian culture and unity among diaspora communities. Nic Thindwa, the communications director for the organizers, told 247malawi News that the summer gathering is an opportunity to bring people together regardless of political differences.
“We thought summer would be the best time to get everyone together to foster the unity that exists among Malawians in the diaspora, regardless of political differences,” Thindwa said. With Malawi currently in campaign season, the event will emphasize that despite differing views, Malawians remain united first and foremost.

The Malawi Summer Ball will be held at the Basford Miners Welfare Centre, located at 55 Goldcrest Rd, Nottingham NG6 8PT, from 6 PM to midnight. Tickets are priced at £40 per person or £70 for couples, with attendees encouraged to secure their spots using the details provided on the event flyer. The dress code is smart attire in black, red, or green.
This event promises to be a vibrant celebration of Malawian identity, bringing together the community for an evening of culture, connection, and camaraderie.
