Human rights and Governance advocates have faulted Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) over the way they handled their President Arthur Peter Mutharika foreign trip.
Undule Mwakasungula says Mutharika is not an ordinary person but the former Head of State.
Mwakasungula said for the sake of transparency and accountability DPP leadership should have come out clear on where the former President was even before people started questioning about it.

“While DPP has been demanding transparency from President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and his government, the party itself has notably been secretive about former President Peter Mutharika’s whereabouts,”
he quaried.
Another economic and political commentator Dr Ben Dzolowere said Mutharika uses Tax payers money therefore there is need for transparency all times.
“As a key presidential candidate, Malawians are anxious to know his status, fueling numerous rumors. It is ironic that DPP has been expecting transparency from government and otherw while lacking openness on this critical matter of the real whereabouts of the former President,” said Dr Dzolowere.
Dzolowere said Malawians have the right to know whereabouts of Mutharika and his health.
“And Peter Mutharika being a DPPÂ Presidential candidate in September election makes it even more interests to Malawian to know his status all the time,” he opined.
Mutharika has since returned home fueling speculations of his ill health.
