Blantyre city hosts inaugural public speaking competition for secondary schools

By Jones Gadama

The inaugural Blantyre City Public Speaking Competition for Secondary Schools is currently underway, bringing together students from various schools across the city to showcase their public speaking skills, confidence, and leadership abilities.

The competition, themed “Speak, Keep and Act the Vision of Malawi,” aims to promote these essential skills among secondary students in Blantyre.

Organized by the Centre for Governance and Leadership (CEGOL) in partnership with the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation and MUBAS, among others, the competition provides a platform for students to express themselves and share their ideas on issues affecting the country.

Through this initiative, students will have the opportunity to develop their public speaking skills, build confidence, and enhance their leadership abilities.

The competition is expected to foster a new generation of leaders who can articulate their thoughts and ideas effectively, contributing to the realization of Malawi’s vision.

The event highlights the importance of investing in the next generation of leaders and promoting skills that will shape the country’s future.
