CRMI to Celebrate 25 Years of Living Testimonies with Jesus and the Holy Spirit with a Focus on Elections

By Andrew Mwanandiye Tembo

Charismatic Redeemed Ministries International (CRMI) has urged people in the country to engage in consistent prayer sessions ahead of the September 16 general election.

The father and founder of CRMI, Archbishop Dr. Mark Kambalazaza, made these remarks on Monday in Blantyre when the church briefed journalists on its preparations for the church’s 25th anniversary celebration, slated for September 5 to7 at Kamuzu Stadium in the city.

“We are pleased to announce that our church has completed 25 years since its establishment in 2000. We hereby invite all media to come and celebrate with us,”

“at the same time, we urge all people to engage in consistent prayers as the country prepares to hold general elections in the same month. We need to seek God’s intervention for a God-fearing leadership selection through fair and credible polls.” he said.

Dr. Kambalazaza also shared a brief background of his first encounter with the living Jesus, from which the theme of the church is rooted. “CRMI’s vision is ‘Preaching the Living Jesus and the Holy Spirit in Readiness for Rapture.’

“This theme depicts my experience when I fell ill for 11 years, from 1980 to 1991, until the Lord Jesus intervened miraculously by bringing me back to life after I died. Hence, the celebration and the theme, as I had promised God to spread the Gospel around the world,” explained Dr. Kambalazaza.

He further stated that to express his heartfelt appreciation to those who have stood with him over the past 25 years, he will host the silver jubilee together with Bishop Ireen Kambalazaza (his wife) and will be joined by Apostle Dr. Madalitso Mbewe of Cavalry Family Church from Malawi, Apostle Stanys Moliki from South Africa, Bishop Elizabeth Vareen from the United States of America, and Apostle Frederick Shumba from Zimbabwe.

Today, CRMI has over 450 church centers, including many outstations in Malawi, with international branches in the Republic of South Africa, Ireland, Mozambique, and the United States of America.
