The late Honourable Madalitso Kazombo was a distinguished Malawian leader whose life reflected the power of education, professionalism, and dedicated public service.
His contribution to national development spanned academia, the private sector, politics, and community-based economic activities, leaving behind a legacy of discipline, integrity, and commitment to excellence.
Hon. Kazombo was firmly grounded in education.

He pursued his higher education at the University of Malawi, Chancellor College, from 1999 to 2004, before advancing his professional training at the Malawi College of Accountancy in Blantyre between 2005 and 2009, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACCA).
This strong academic and professional foundation shaped his analytical thinking and leadership approach.
He later began his career in the private sector at Deloitte, where he worked from up to 2008, gaining valuable experience in auditing, financial management, and corporate governance.
In 2008, he joined Press Corporation Limited as an Internal Auditor, a position he held until 2014, earning respect for his integrity and commitment to accountability.
In 2014, Hon. Kazombo entered Parliament after being elected Member of Parliament for Kasungu East Constituency.
His professionalism and mastery of procedure later saw him elected First Deputy Speaker of Malawi’s National Assembly in 2019, a role in which he was widely respected for firm but fair leadership.
After active politics, he turned to serious farming, engaging in crop production, fish farming, and livestock rearing, demonstrating his continued commitment to productivity and economic contribution beyond public office.
The Honourable Madalitso Kazombo, a Chartered Accountant, former Deloitte and Press Corporation auditor, Member of Parliament for Kasungu East and First Deputy Speaker of Malawi’s National Assembly, sadly died today, 8th January, 2026 after suffering from asthma.
