Secretary for Higher Education, Dr. Levis Eneya, has called on higher education institutions and graduates to actively participate in implementing the Malawi 2063 national development agenda.
Speaking at the DMI-St. John the Baptist University graduation ceremony on Friday, Dr. Eneya emphasized the importance of collective efforts in transforming Malawi into an upper-middle-income economy by 2063.

Dr. Eneya praised the Catholic Institutions and the Catholic Church for their significant contributions to education in Malawi.
He commended DMI St. John the Baptist University for its commitment to quality education, highlighting its accredited programs, infrastructure development, and initiatives to support disadvantaged students.
The Secretary pledged the government’s support to both public and private institutions in developing human capital.
He urged institutions to adhere to standards set by the National Council for Higher Education and assured that the Ministry would conduct regular audits to maintain high standards.
Dr. Eneya congratulated the graduates, encouraging them to be innovative, avoid corruption, and utilize their skills to create opportunities for others.
In his remarks, Professor Amalraj Ambrose, Vice Chancellor of the university, highlighted the institution’s commitment to research and development, announcing the availability of grants for innovation in various fields.
He appealed for continued government support and reaffirmed DMI’s mission to empower the disadvantaged through education.
The graduation ceremony underscored the crucial role of higher education in driving national development and the importance of collaboration between institutions and government.
