Blue Eagles FC have confirmed the departure of their long-serving goalkeeper, Joshua Waka, who has completed a permanent transfer to Ekhaya FC after both clubs reached an agreement.

The move ends Waka’s five-year stay with the Eagles, where he became a key figure in the squad and one of the most consistent shot-stoppers in the TNM Super League.

Club officials described the 28-year-old as a player who combined talent, discipline, and leadership, making him a dependable presence between the posts.

Waka’s commanding displays were vital in the Eagles’ recent strong campaigns, where the team consistently challenged for top-four spots and remained competitive in domestic cup tournaments.

Blue Eagles said in their statement: “Joshua has been an integral part of our squad and has consistently demonstrated professionalism and dedication during his time with Blue Eagles,”statement said

“His contributions both on and off the pitch have been invaluable to the club’s recent successes. We would like to thank him for his outstanding service and wish him all the best as he begins this new chapter of his career with Ekhaya FC,”the statement explained.

The transfer represents both a fresh challenge and an opportunity to showcase his skills on a new stage.

Ekhaya FC are currently strengthening their squad ahead of the new season, and the experienced goalkeeper is expected to play a central role in their ambitions.

Meanwhile, Blue Eagles are expected to make further announcements in the coming days regarding reinforcements in the goalkeeping department as they prepare for life without one of their most trusted players.
