Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Jessie Kabwila, has praised the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) for aligning with President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s vision of transforming Malawi’s agrarian economy through agricultural productivity and commercialization.
Speaking at the 8th LUANAR Congregation on Thursday,Kabwila commended the university’s leadership in innovation and academic excellence.

The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing human capital development and ensuring universities remain operational.
She also highlighted the government’s commitment to funding needy students through student loans, which have increased to over 31,000 beneficiaries since 2021.
LUANAR Vice Chancellor Professor Emmanuel Kaunda emphasized the importance of innovation and transformation in driving nation’s progress.
Kaunda urged graduates to apply their knowledge to make a meaningful impact in their communities and contribute to the national development agenda.
The graduation was held under the theme ‘Investing in Agricultural natural resource human capital development: paving way for Malawi’s social economic transformation’.
