Higher Education Minister who is also a frontline runner in parliamentary race for Salima Central West Constituency Dr. Jessie Kabwila says she is set to transform the lives of the people of Salima.
Kabwila made the remarks on Easter Friday in the area of Senior Chief Khombedza in Salima, where she distributed bags of maize to families who are facing food shortages.
In her speech, Kabwila who is also Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Spokesperson said she decided to distribute the maize because most households in the area have no food.
She told the people that she is well aware of their problems hence her decision to contest as an MP to bring about change to the area.
Kabwila also assured the people that President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has put in place measures to help eradicate persistent hunger that has recently rocked the country due to changing weather patterns.
