Loftus Africa Resources Limited has extended a generous financial boost to Karonga United Football Club by donating K20 million.
The announcement was made today during a ceremony where Malawi’s President, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, officially reopened the Kayelekera Uranium Mine, which is managed by the company.
Speaking after receiving the donation, Karonga United General Secretary, Ramzy Simwaka, expressed deep gratitude for the support, stating that the funds will go a long way in easing the financial challenges the club has been facing.

He added that the contribution comes at a crucial time, as the team has been struggling to cover operational costs, including player welfare, training facilities, and travel expenses for away matches.
The gesture also highlights Loftus Africa’s commitment to giving back to the local community, particularly in Karonga, where the club plays a central role in promoting sports and youth development.
The donation is expected to strengthen the team’s preparations for upcoming fixtures in the TNM Super League, boosting both morale and performance.
