President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on Saturday evening received a heroes welcome when he arrived in the City of Blantyre from Mangochi where he stopped for a week.
Hundreds of people lined up in the streets all the way from Mangochi to Blantyre to see the presidential motorcade passing with President Professor Mutharika waving his hands in response to them.
Speaking to the people in Blantyre, President Professor Mutharika said he is very happy that his campaign promise he made to the people that no one will die of hunger in Malawi has been fulfilled.
Professor Mutharika said people are now eating maize which is now affordable and at an affordable price unlike the past when some people in the country were eating wild bushes (chitedze) as food for their survivals.
He assured the youth that he will fulfill his promise he made to them of soft loans for starting small businesess thereby making them to be productive citizens of the society they are living in it.
” The loans will be for all the youth in Malawi, it will not only be disbursed to party youth, church members or one region only, I want all Malawian youth to benefit from these soft loans,’ said Professor Mutharika.

The five years of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and the MCP saw many youth in the country including MCP dominated districts not benefited from the loans , the loans were disbursed to only a few youth who had connections with the top brass people in the MCP case in point MEDEF loans.
A list which was made available in Parliament for NEEF loans, revealed that senior members of the MCP, cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, and senior government officials shared the money to themselves in millions of Kwachas defeating the mandate of NEEF to boost up small businesess for the youth.
The NEEF loans found its way to the presidential palace where even sons and daughters of President Chakwera, relatives, friends and friends of friends pocketed huge sums of money per individual person in the ranges between K35 million to K400 million.
” The late Joyce Chitsulo and Madalitso Kazombo were also part of the beneficiaries, NEEF money was free for all basing on party loyalists,” the list revealed.
On the list of NEEF beneficiaries, some DPP members are being reported to have found their way in making the MCP to be proudly saying NEEF loans were disbursed to all Malawians.
It has been established that MCP members and supporters who have benefited from NEEF loans are being seen advocating for Chakwera to bounce back into government in the 2030 Election.
Recently, a veteran journalist who once worked with the Daily Times newspaper as a senior Reporter speaking on a strict condition of anonymity, said President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika promises what he can and not promise what he cannot do.
The journalist said he has found Professor Mutharika of today different from the one Malawians had from 2014 to 2019 saying Mutharika of today is a listening one as compared to yesterday.
