The Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) has revealed that a new sponsor has been secured to support the region’s top football league, according to regional chairperson Dyless Kachala.
Kachala disclosed the development during an awards ceremony held earlier this week where the association honored outstanding teams, players, and journalists who performed well in the recently concluded season of the Thumbs Up Southern Region Football League.

The ceremony marked the end of the previous campaign and also provided a platform for SRFA officials to reflect on the league’s progress and future direction.
During the event, it was confirmed that Rab Processors Limited, the company that had been sponsoring the regional league since 2020, will no longer continue with its financial support.
The withdrawal of the sponsor raised concerns among football stakeholders in the southern region who were eager to know how the league would sustain its operations moving forward.
However, Kachala assured the football fraternity that efforts to secure a new sponsor had already been successful and the league’s continuity would not be affected.
He expressed gratitude to Rab Processors Limited for the role the company has played in developing and sustaining the competition over the past few years.
Kachala described the company as a reliable partner that stood with the association from 2020 until the end of their sponsorship agreement.
According to the SRFA leader, the support from Rab Processors Limited helped improve the competitiveness and organization of the regional league during its tenure as sponsor.
Despite the end of that partnership, Kachala said the association has already identified a new sponsor ready to take over the responsibility of supporting the competition.
He further revealed that the official announcement of the new sponsor will be made very soon as final preparations are being completed.
Kachala indicated that the announcement is expected either later this week or early next week, bringing renewed hope for the future of football in the Southern Region.
