UK based Malawian artist Nicholas Thindwa, widely known as Nic Thindwa, is making a powerful return to the music scene with his latest single “Ndilomweli,” scheduled for release in September 2025.
The song, produced by the acclaimed Pon G is crafted to resonate with Malawi’s electorate as the country prepares for upcoming polls. Thindwa, celebrated for his ability to blend various themes with urban beats, has created a catchy, anthem-like track that encourages civic engagement and reflection .

Thindwa’s career spans over two decades, marked by his unique fusion of gospel, hip-hop, and Afrobeat. Born in Nsanje and raised in Lilongwe, he began his musical journey at age eight with the CCAP choir and later honed his skills with the Livingwaters Praise Team. Since relocating to the UK in 2003, he has released numerous hits, including “Muli Mphamvu” (2017) and “Osadandaula,” which established him as a voice for both spiritual and social causes. His 2018 album Muli Mphamvu showcased his versatility, featuring gospel and love songs, while his collaboration with Brenda Kadammanja in 2022 demonstrated his knack for merging traditional Malawian rhythms with modern production .
Politically, Thindwa is no stranger to activism. His 2018 single “Nyanja Yathu” addressed the Lake Malawi boundary dispute with Tanzania, firmly supporting Malawi’s sovereignty and President Mutharika’s stance. Another track, “Tikufuna Chakwera” (2019), echoed public sentiment during Malawi’s election highlighting his role as a diasporic advocate for change. His music often mirrors national dialogues, blending cultural pride with calls for accountability .
With “ndilomweli,” Thindwa continues this tradition, using his platform to inspire and mobilize listeners. The single promises to be both a musical and cultural touchstone, reinforcing his legacy as an artist unafraid to tackle pressing issues through rhythm and rhyme.
