A renowned Governance and economic expert Mabvuto Bamusi says the economic challenges which Malawi is experiencing has completely nothing to do with the current Leadership.

Commenting on the just ended press conference which Petra president Kamuzu Chibambo held in Blantyre, Bamusi said the challenges which Malawi is experiencing is as a result of various factors which include disruption of supply chain of various commodities such as fuel and fertilizer.

Bamusi said the economy globally is bad and pointing fingers at the Government and the President as the ones killing the economy is bad. Bamusi said it will take time for these challenges to come to an end.

During the press conference Chibambo said the current Government promised alot but failed to deliver which is contrary to what economist Bamusi said.

Ironically, Chibambo was part of Tonse Government but failed to give alternative advice to the administration.

Muvi wa Chilungamo approved as 14th political party in Malawi

After struggling to register as a new political party in Malawi since May 3, 2023, the Registrar of political parties in Malawi has finally approved Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) to become the 14th registered political party in his books.

Muvi wa Chilungamo formerly, Malawi Engagement Group (MAENGA) led by the late Dr. Hazwell Bandawe, has been instrumental in giving advice to the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for it to do better walking together with Malawians to develop the country from abstract poverty to prosperity.

Some senior members of the DPP thought it wise to themselves not to be engaged by Muvi wa Chilungamo for the fact that those that were leading the Engagement Group had no names in the political history of Malawi.

In 2021, Muvi wa Chilungamo graduated from a social media group to a pressure group after engaging the MCP-led-Tonse Alliance government to do better but it took its own direction making the citizens lose trust in the leadership of President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera and his Vice, Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima.

Announcing to continental citizens and Malawians, senior citizens and Pan-Africanists on the birth of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) to the Republic of Malawi in a press statement, its President Bantu Saunders Jumah, has assured Malawians that MRP is a group of Revolutionaries and game changers.

Jumah says MRP is a group of people who are realists and the only HOPE for the future of Africa and new Malawi saying it has come to be the first political party in Malawi to kill and bury all these ills and discrepancies.

He has assured patriotic Malawians that MRP has not come to add numbers of parties or increase the volume of impunity, corruption, nepotism, favoritism, tribalism, patriarch and regionalism urging all to join and support it.

The MRP President says Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) is born registered on the 22nd December, 2023 having satisfied the National Planning Commission (NPC) guidelines and rules followed by the requirements of the laws of Malawi.

He says MRP is a new political party in Malawi, born with new thinking based on Mindset Change and the philosophy of REALISM which is known as the Utopian informing patriotic Malawians that its offices are in Blantyre at Phekani House opposite Chibisa House along Sir Glyn Jones Road advising media houses to contact them on the following numbers; +265888897476 or +265999462772.

“Long live Democracy and welcome the African Revolution and Renaissance, Malawi will never be the same,” reads part of the statement.

DPP mafia behaviour resurfaces as MP Grace Kwerepeta blocks relief vehicle in Zomba

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) continues bringing confusion in the country.

No wonder recently a renowned political commentator Raymond Likambale discribed DPP as a failed party and that come 2025, the party will not amase votes unless the party stop its wars internally.

Barely days after DPP had caused troubles at the Accountant General office to force Government pay the graduity for Thandi Hendrina Chinyama’s father, the same law makers had vigils in Zomba where people there led by Grace Kwerepeta wanted Government to distribute relief maize to their area and not Thondwe.

Grace Kwerepeta blocking the track from the packing area.

In the first place, Kwerepeta has no such right to block the vehicle because her constituency already got its share of maize.

This type of mafia behavior is not allowed and Grace Kwerepeta is not above the law.

The issue regarding the relief maize is in the hands of the Department of disaster (Dodma).

Last year the DPP law makers camped at the SFFRM offices in Thyolo where they intimidated Government officials for no reasons at all demanding Agricultural Input Program fertilizer.

DPP should stop intimidating Govt, the case of Hendrina Kamenya

By Linda Kwanjana

On 4 January, 2024, a 23 year young lady held vigils at Capital Hill demanding the pension of her late father.

On the same night following the reports , Secretary to the President and Cabinet Colleen Zamba visited the girl at the Accountant General’s office assuring her that Government will sort out her father’s gratuity.

However, despite the assurances Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) law makers decided to politicise the whole thing.

DPP director of women Mary Navicha and Levi Luwemba, went allover intimidating the Government to force the Government to release the finances. Let Navicha and his friends know that Government is a system. Everything operates systematically.

Even when DPP was in power people had to wait to receive their benefits. Government owes pensioners billion of money because the basket is just too small to pay out every one at once.

DPP should know that the same basket has to buy drugs for our Hospitals, pay our security agencies Malawi Police and Army.

Government has paid Hendrina not because of pressure from DPP but these benefits were already finalised.

OPC spokesperson Robert Kalindiza in an interview said he met the family members at the accountant general’s office, where it was established that she came at a time the benefits were already due for payment.

He said the payment of these benefits does ot mean succumbing to pressure, but that President Lazarus Chakwera is also concerned with the delays, as this is supposed to be paid within a year in normal circumstances.
