By Durell Namasani

After releasing Mumapemphero,  a song which came out as a surprise to many music lovers, Namadingo is back again with yet another surprise, a new song titled “Nambe”

Despite having mixed views on the actual song, music fanatics have agreed on the fact that the song has got a beautiful music video.

Many are describing it as one of best music videos to have come out of Malawi while some are comparing its quality with “Mumapemphero”, a music video which the singer released a couple of months ago.

Namadingo

The concept of the new music video was written and directed by Namadingo himself and the video was shot by one of the best videographers in the country Hendrix Kanchowa of Kanchowa Studios.

Here are the views of some people on social media  on Namadingo’s new song “Nambe”

Tsoka Patrick
“Namadingo is a storyteller (his stand ups testify). What has stood out the most here is the video concept.  As someone whose job is storytelling, I admire the story in video. Sweet concept. Sweet acting from the kids. The visuals are 10/10.
The song. Above average.  You can play it a couple of times. Made sure, he paints diversity in language—Chichewa, English, Tumbuka. Short song. Short verses. With an abuse of “Naaaa naa!” Not bad though, as it was pushing the song forward. The beat is cool. The backing vocals are sweet. Dope tune. I give it 7.5/10.”

Fatsani Chione
“Of late Doc has been repeatedly a “kapentala” komano this is a fine tune by all standards.”

Rabson Hdc Nyirendah
“Maybe he should take a break. The urge to stay relevant and provide constancy In the music industry is coming at the expense of quality. With these few remarks, I declare the song trash and wack .”

Frank Ecris Manyozo
“This guy should stop making music.”

Qaea Oqio
“Namadingo’s latest release, ‘Nambe’, is a true masterpiece that showcases his exceptional talent and artistry. The song itself is a sweet melodic treat that resonates with listeners, with every element – from the harmonies to the instrumentation – perfectly in place. But what truly sets ‘Nambe’ apart is its stunning visuals, which are a testament to Namadingo’s creativity and attention to detail. The music video is a work of art, with beautifully choreographed dance routines that add an extra layer of depth and energy to the song. The dancers, in particular, bring an infectious enthusiasm and charm, making the video a joy to watch. Overall, ‘Nambe’ is a standout track that solidifies Namadingo’s position as a leading voice in the music industry.”

Lusaco Mkangama
“Trying his best to impress but situation still tough for him musically.”

Jay Stephie Chikufenji
“The creativity in this movie is awesome.”

Inwell Nick
“Too much creativity in this song.”

Emmanuel Mwanyongo, a former senior member of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) executive committee, has announced his decision to join the United Transformation Movement (UTM). Mwanyongo, who is also known by the moniker Yongo Wa Yongo, made this announcement to Zodiak Online earlier today.

Emmanuel Mwanyongo

Mwanyongo cited his desire to return to active politics and honor the principles championed by the late UTM leader, Dr. Saulos Chilima, as the main reasons for his move. He highlighted his respect for Chilima’s values and vision as a motivating factor in his decision.

Mwanyongo had previously stepped down from his role as a senior member of the MCP executive committee in February of the previous year. His shift to UTM marks a significant change in his political career, reflecting his alignment with the policies and direction of his new party.

Dr. Michael Usi criticizes leadership conduct, advocates for integrity in public service

Dr. Michael Usi, the current leader of Malawi, has voiced strong criticism regarding the conduct of political leaders, emphasizing that true leadership is a divine calling rather than a political strategy. He pointed out that leaders should begin their service with a commitment to integrity, symbolized by swearing an oath on a Bible or Quran, rather than a party manifesto.

Dr. Usi remarked, “It is disheartening to see leaders who are meant to serve the people, but instead, they are using their positions for personal gain. Just as Jesus sent his disciples to fetch a donkey for a higher purpose, today we see leaders misusing their power and public resources. It is astonishing that such leaders would claim to be advancing development through their government.”

Dr. Usi also addressed concerns about corruption, suggesting that those who embezzle public funds often do so with the belief that they will amass wealth and escape poverty. He called for more accountability and integrity among public officials.

These comments were made during a prayer service at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Malamulo, Thyolo district. Dr. Usi also contributed K2 million to support Dolika’s ministry and assist those in need, demonstrating his commitment to community service and support for the underprivileged.

SDA conference leader Urges leaders to serve with fear and love of God

Tony Yolamu Nyirenda, President of the Malawi Union Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church, has called on national and traditional leaders to serve their people with both reverence and love. Speaking at a service at the SDA Malamulo Mission Church in Thyolo, Nyirenda emphasized that leadership, whether secular or religious, is a divine responsibility and should be conducted with respect for God rather than personal desires.

Nyirenda stated, “Leaders must recognize that both governmental and religious authority comes from God. Therefore, they should fear Him and not merely pursue their own agendas.” He criticized leaders who view divine laws, such as those of the Lord, as obstacles to fulfilling their personal ambitions, including corruption and promoting unjust practices.

Tony Yolamu Nyirenda

In his sermon titled “Mphyophyoneni Mwanayo” (Psalms 2:9-12), Nyirenda urged leaders to adhere to moral and ethical standards in their governance. His message was reinforced by the presence of Dr. Michael Usi, the current leader of Malawi, who attended the service.

Nyirenda’s address underscored the importance of integrity and service in leadership, stressing that true leadership should be grounded in a genuine commitment to serving others with fairness and compassion.
