A born-again christian, Evangelist and season politician Ken Msonda, has advised President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and government to open eyes that Candlelight Memorial Services are not being conducted to celebrate the life of the departed Dr. Saulosi Chilima but campaign for sympathy vote.

Msonda said the speeches which are being made from Candlelight are all propagandas of insulting and castigating President Chakwera and government observing that opposition leaders are using these candle light to advance their political ambitions.

Msonda

He has asked the MCP led government not to sit down but to fight back against those that making propagandas against Chakwera and government by extinguishing the lighting candles with water that politics is politics.

Speaking through an audio clip circulating in various social media platforms, Msonda has claimed that some of the people leading in the candle lights have bail in their pockets for their alleged corruption cases but are there insulting President Chakwera and government.

Msonda said some people are throwing stones to police stations forgetting that they have bullets of Indian hemps in their pockets saying continuing to watch these people holding candlelight activities will produce a negative impact on MCP campaign.

He said he will tell President Chakwera to fund the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to arrest and prosecute all those that have police and court bail in their pockets for being the ones behind supporting Candlelight Memorial Services to destroy government.

“If I was the president of the country, I would have arrested all those lighting candles to prisons for taking advantage of making propagandas against government,” said Msonda.

He has reminded President Chakwera and the MCP of Dr. Chilima’s proverb that you cannot tame a snake, one day it will swallow you advising government to open eyes why candlelight is being held in the night and 100 percent of the patronage are the youth?

The season politician has reminded government that even in the Bible, Jesus beat up people in the church saying Satan does not get tired, living these people to do the candlelight, they will not get tired wondering why candlelight not held during the day time.

A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has advised Hon. Msonda to keep quiet if he wants Malawians to respect him reminding him that even MCP members sympathizing with the death of Dr. Chilima are patronizing Candlelight Memorial Services.

Kamphangala has advised President Chakwera not to listen to Msonda’s sentiments that Malawians holding candle light memorial services are not doing this for campaign but for speedy answers from MCP government on the mysterious and tragic death of Dr. Chilima and eight others.

He has finally advised the MCP that if it is not happy with these candlelight memorial services, it has all the rights reserved to call its supporters to hold their own candlelight to counter-attack the speeches deemed propagandas by Msonda.

The 3rd February, 2020 landmark ruling of the electoral justice set the laws that Malawians to go to the polls on 23rd June, 2020 to elect the president based on the 50 plus 1 majority win and this was done with President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera forming a united force with the late Dr. Saulosi Chilima in the MCP-UTM Alliance as the main partners.

The MCP Alliance led to the other political parties such as AFORD, MAFUNDE, Peoples Party, Umodzi Party, PETRA and others, to join it and became witnesses of Alliance as it was been signed at the Kamuzu Institute for Youth ground in Lilon

Constitutional Court Judges asked  to revisit the 3rd February, 2020 ruling on 50+1

Speaking through a Revolutionary voice in various social media platforms, President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, has described UTM pulling out from the Alliance with MCP as THE collapse of the Tonse Alliance in government.

Jumah said without the UTM in the equation, there is no government in Malawi calling upon the Constitutional Court not to keep quiet but to translate its ruling made on 3rd February, 2020 claiming that 20 percent of the votes were for UTM.

He said as the writings are on the wall, Malawi has a minority government and president meaning that the citizens are being governed by an institution which is illegal and is committing a crime against the 50 plus 1 majority win set by the Constitutional Court.

The MRP President said this the time that the Constitutional Court can come in to guide Malawians on the need of an interim government to be put in place so that it oversees the 2025 elections and not a minority government the country is having today.

He said from 12th July, 2024 soon after the UTM announced that it has ended its electoral Alliance with the MCP, Malawi has a vacancy of a government and President calling for a transitional government to be established to start preparing for the 16th September, 2025 General Elections.

Jumah said the UTM is out of government not by its wish but in anger over the mysterious and tragic death of its leader Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, whose death are subject to discussions through nationwide Candlelight Memorial Services.

“The Constitutional Court faulted the DPP for winning the May, 2019 elections without 50 plus one majority win and today, it is quiet seeing the MCP running government alone without the UTM,” said Jumah.

He said Muvi wa Chilungamo is happy for the country to have 50 plus 1 majority win saying this will change the Republican Constitution for it to have a public wire surrounding the peoples’ taxes advising Malawians that if they want a government to clear politics of stupidity in, Muvi wa Chilungamo is here.

The MRP President has finally assured Malawians that they should not make a mistake to vote for MRP in government in 2025 and once does that, Malawi will say ‘bye -bye to politics of stupidity” the president will revert back to be using Land Rover vehicles and Ministers to use Toyota Corollas.

The Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) has clarified details on its comprehensive loss of K543 billion for the financial year ending December 31, 2023.

According to RBM spokesperson Mark Lungu, this loss is primarily due to foreign exchange revaluations rather than operational inefficiencies.

Lungu says the RBM’s financial operations in 2023 resulted in a profit of K158 billion before accounting for foreign exchange revaluations.

“The comprehensive loss was attributed to a significant mismatch between the bank’s foreign assets and foreign liabilities,” explains Lungu.

He adds that the bank’s foreign liabilities stood at K2.76 trillion, while its foreign assets were valued at K600 billion at the end of 2023.
