Musician ‘Lulu’ has announced that he is going to release a brand new song titled “Moyo Wina” on Friday July 26, 2024.
The singer made the announcement through his Social Media platforms, saying he has featured fellow musician ‘Kell Kay’ and his sisters ‘The Kwambiri Sisters’ on the backing vocals.
According to Lulu, the song is expected to be released at 8 o’clock on Friday morning.
This will be Lulu’s first single this year except for “Ndalira a Chilima” a song which was released as a tribute to Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Chilima who died in an aeroplane crash in Chikangawa last month.
Malawian musicians Janta and Onesmus have taken to Social Media to mourn the death of their long time friend, musician Malome Vector from Lesotho who has died in a car accident.
Malome Vector who was staying in South Africa died on Wednesday afternoon alongside some of his friends, following the accident.
He was one of Janta’s close friends in South Africa and was featured in Onesimus’ song titled “My Woman” alongside the ‘Divorce’ hit-maker.

Last night Onesmus posted a picture of himself and Malome Vector in studio recording what would be the artists’ last collaboration.
In an emotional Facebook post on Wednesday evening, Onesmus described Malome Vector as a true friend who was always there for him.
“My best friend, brother, cousin, support system, director and many more things you were to me, no one celebrated me like you did, we traveled around the world together when I was down you always laughed and say it’s just another storm and it will pass,
Last night we spoke like any other normal night together in the studio with Malome Vector and Lizwi not knowing you guys were saying good bye to me, I’m still in disbelief why so soon dude, my heart is broken and bleeding…. I don’t even know what to say 💔💔💔💔💔💔…” Reads the post on Facebook.
The “Controller ” hit-maker also shared the old pictures of himself and Malome Vector which shows that the two have indeed been close friends for a long time.
Apart from Malome Vector, the accident has also claimed the life of renowned South African-based videographer ‘Da Mos’ who was in the same vehicle with Vector.
Da Mos directed songs of some of Malawi’s top musicians like Onesimus ,Janta, Zeze Kingston, Saint and T Kellz.

Former Flames midfielder Joseph Kamwendo continues to search for his first win as the Interim coach for Creck Sporting Football Club (FC) following the team’s 2-2 draw against Kamuzu Barracks FC (KB) at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji on Wednesday afternoon.
KB were the first to hit the back of the net through Zeliati Nkhoma who scored in the 26th minute but Creck equalised with only six minutes before half time.

Just when everyone thought the first half was going to end 1-all, Arnold Kiyama had other thoughts as he scored Creck’s second goal just a minute before the end of the first half.
The second half saw the Lilongwe-based soldiers getting their second goal through Hope Namadzunda who scored in the 64th minute after receiving a pass from Gerard Chirwa.
After the match George Chaomba for Creck Sporting was voted man of the match.
Joseph Kamwendo took charge of Creck Sporting last week following the suspension of McDonald Mtetemera as the Head Coach.
His first assignment was the FDH Cup Round of 16 match against Baka City in Karonga where the home side knocked the Lilongwe-based side out of the competition.
In other TNM Super League matches played on Wednesday, Moyale Barracks left it late to draw 1-all against Bangwe All Stars in a match played at Mzuzu Stadium.
Shukran Goba put the visitors ahead in the 52nd minute but the home side equalised in the added time through a penalty kick taken by Emmanuel Allan.
In Lilongwe the match between Civil Service United and Mighty Tigers ended goalless at Civo Stadium.
Silver Strikers remain top on the TNM Super League log table with 36 minutes from 14 games while rookies Baka City remain bottom with only seven points from 13 games.
Malawi President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera is being praised for showcasing economic prowess while facing a myriad of natural disasters hanging on his head.
Political commentator Ceasar Kondowe says Malawi is undergoing through economic transformation, especially with laid down infrastructure developments being undertaken across the country.
Kondowe commends the President for Investing in Infrastructure Development, especially roads, saying it will enhance connectivity.
Kondowe says that infrastructure development, particularly in the areas of transportation and communication, enhances connectivity within and other countries.
He says improved road networks, airports, and digital infrastructure facilitate the movement of goods, services, and information. This increased connectivity opens up new market opportunities, attracts investments, and promotes trade, leading to job creation and economic growth.
Kondowe gave an example of Mzimba Road, Six lanes , Lakeshore, and M1 Road as having the potential to unlock Economic Potential.
“Investing in these roads infrastructure unlocks the economic potential of Malawi. It will enable the establishment and growth of industries, attracting domestic and foreign investments. Robust infrastructure, such as power generation and distribution networks, allows businesses to operate efficiently, reduces operational costs, and boosts productivity,” he said.
While delivering state of the nation address in Parliament, President Chakwera expressed government commitment to ensure promotion of infrastructure development.
Chakwera reported that his government is very committed to completing the road projects.
Chakwera cited the construction of Namikalango Bridge as a mission accomplished.
He also gave an example of various road networks in Lilongwe City as a good example of his government commitment towards infrastructure development.
