The Association of Malawians in Ireland (AMAI) have organised a Memorial mass for late Vice President Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima and eight other compatriots who died in an aeroplane crash on 10 June in Chikangawa Forest in Mzimba district.
The Mass will be held at St Matthews Parish in Ballyfermot on Sunday June 30, starting from half past 3 in the afternoon.
During the ceremony, there will be Speeches and Chilima voices will be played after the mass. According to the organisers, the Condolence book will also be available for people to sign.
Death has been announced of Hip-Hop musician Kennedy Mwenya popularly known in music circles as Spyral Mwenya.
According to FD Communications Deputy Managing Director Frank Phiri said the singer-cum-graphic designer has died following a car accident that he was involved in Mzuzu over the weekend.
“News of his death has come as a huge blow to the company. We extend our deep condolences to his family and friends in the creative media industry,” said Phiri.

Spyral Mwenya is known for his compositions such as ‘Kuche Kuche’, ‘Ndimaganiza Bhoo’ , and ‘Ngati Iwo’, among others.
The artist was working as a graphic designer for FD Communications.
He was born on June 13, 1995 and he came from Chikulamayembe village in Rumphi district.
The Lilongwe Principal Resident Magistrate Court has today granted bail to activist Bon Kalindo who was arrested on June 20, 2024 for allegedly producing a voice note aimed at disturbing peace in the country.

Meanwhile, Principal Resident Magistrate Roderick Michongwe, says Kalindo has been granted bail on condition that he must be his own surety, should not be involved in disturbing peace and should avail himself before court when needed, among other conditions.
The activist is alleged to have stated in the voice note that there was a sour relation between President Lazarus Chakwera and late Saulos Chilima, who was vice-president of the country.

St Anne Catholic Choir of St Louis Montfort Parish in Balaka, have announced that their much anticipated album launch will take place on June 30, 2024 in Balaka.
In a statement released by the Choir on Monday, the album titled ‘Mwandisankhiranji’ will be launched at St Louis Balaka Parish and there will be special performances by different choirs and many other supporting artists.
“We are excited to announce the grand launch of our two new CDs and a DVD, featuring a collection of spiritually uplifting, emotionally touching, and educational songs. These well-composed and beautifully narrated pieces will be released during a special event on 30th June, 2024,” reads the statement in part.
According to Christopher Piyo who is the Choir’s Chairperson, the choir has already released some promotional songs which are enjoying airplay in different media platforms.
This latest album has been produced by Felix Mpinga and Felix Ziyade and the DVD was directed by Victor Kagoma.
The ‘Mwandisankhiranji’ album has songs like Sinkha Mkhristu, Tiyeni Tilandire, Lero lino and Anthu nonse musekere.
