Apostle Francis Mendulo publishes book

Apostle Francis Mendulo of Voice of God Church has published his first book titled ‘ A Season to Sing for the Barren’

In an interview, Mendulo said among other things, the book seeks to announce the message of hope to the masses that need God’s intervention in their situation and show them that Jesus Christ is enough to handle the challenges of mankind.



He said he felt inspired to write the book so as to spread the Word of God further than the congregation that is within his reach.

“My plans are to continue putting the message of the kingdom of God on printed pages for generations to come,” he said.

Apostle Mendulo appealed to government to enhance the reading culture in the citizenry by building libraries in urban and rural areas so that young people as well as the elderly should be able to access the vast knowledge that promote their lives found in books.

The apostle also urged upcoming writers in the country not to hesitate on the writing skills that they have because the message they have will help in the development of livelihoods and the country at large.

“Please make a plan to get your copy of the book and you will realise the victory and the finished work that Christ accomplished for your successful and prosperous life,” he said.

He said the book is currently selling at K10,000 ( hard copy) and can be accessed from him at his church ‘ Chapima Heights Voice of God church’ which is opposite Chapima Police unit.

On his part, Lyton Chithambo the Group Chief of Operations at Press Corporations Limited commanded the book saying it has come at the right time when Malawi has just experienced so many devastating calamities like cholera pandemic, cyclone Freddy and economic challenges.

Born in a family of nine children in year 1975, Apostle Mendulo is a married man of God with three children Faith, Timothy and Gabriel.

He is a holder of Masters Degree in Theology obtained from Jacksonville Baptist Seminary Florida in United States of America ( USA).

He was called in Ministry in 1997 and he has been pastoring since 2009.

President Chakwera takes Operation Tigwirane Manja campaign to AFREXIM Bank

In a bid to widen scope of Operation Tigwirane Manja Campaign, Malawi Leader President Dr Lazarus Chakwera on Tuesday evening held a virtual meeting , with Prof. Oramah, on Malawi’s continuing need for international support for relief efforts in response to the humanitarian crisis occasioned by Cyclone Freddy in the short term and for recovery and reconstruction in the long term.

Afrixim Bank, has since ordered immediate release of $500,000 in support of Operation Tigwirane Manja Campaign which Malawi Leader President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is coordinating.

The Bank president His Excellency Prof. Benedict Oramah pledged a donation of US$ 500,000 towards the relief efforts the President is coordinating following the virtual meeting the two held.

The donation will soon be channeled through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) to ensure that Afrexim Bank’s support is used in a manner that strengthens the capacity of governance institutions in executing their Constitutional mandate as the primary mechanism for helping those affected by the Cyclone in a way that does not erode their agency or undermine their long term resilience against future climate change shocks.

In his remarks President Chakwera expressed gratitude for the generous donation and Afrexim Bank’s decisive act of solidarity with Malawi and its message of condolence to its people.

His Excellency also commended Prof. Oramah for his leadership in ensuring that Afrexim Bank’s credentials as an all-weather partner that carries the burdens of vulnerable countries like Malawi as its own are plain for all to see.

Chipungu commends the passing of 2023-2024 national budget

Member of parliament for Ntcheu North East Constituency Arthur Chipungu has commended the passing of K3 trillion 2023-2024 national budget by his fellow legislators on Friday afternoon at Parliament building in Lilongwe.

Speaking in an interview with 247 Malawi.com Chipungu said the passing of the budget will mean more developmental projects for the people of Ntcheu North East constituency mainly the maintenance of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) from K50 million to K100 million.

“We have a flagship project at Kabekere and this year we will concentrate on construction of clinic and two medical houses,” said Chipungu.

He further said they have registered a great developmental achievement interms of borehole drilling, construction of school blocks and some bridges.

Chipungu added that they are getting too closer to bridge up the development gap which they have in Ntcheu North East constituency.

In his remarks after passing the budget, leader of the house Richard Chimwendo Banda hailed the legslators for their solidarity to pass the budget regardless of their different political affiliation which will benefit rural masses in the country.

The 2023-2024 national budget costed K3 trillion which will go to cater some development challenges that Malawians are going through in this country.

Bakili meets Bushiri: Appreciates him on Cyclone Freddy impacts response

Former president Bakili Muluzi, on Tuesday met with Prophet shepherd Bushiri.

Writing on his Facebook page, Bushiri said the former president had called him to appreciate the work the prophet and his team are doing in assisting those affected by cyclone Freddy.

“As Malawi’s Ambassador of Goodwill, he invited me and my team to appreciate and encourage us on the work we have been doing, to complement government’s efforts in responding to effects of tropical cyclone Freddy, which has killed and displaced thousands in the country,”

“Thank you for the words of encouragement on the little work we are doing. We give God all the glory.

” I must also underline that I have been immensely encouraged to do more, and I agree with the words of our president, His Excellency Dr Lazarus Chakwera, who keeps reminding all of us of this, ‘let us hold hands together and do more to help,”reads part of the post.

Meanwhile, prophet Bushiri has made an appeal to other religious leaders to stand up and support the victims, regardless of affiliations.

Prophet Bushiri is one of the people in the country that are complementing government’s efforts in assisting those that have been affected by cyclone Freddy.

Records by the Department of Disaster Management Affairs- show that about 140,000 households have been rendered homeless by the cyclone.

Govt challenged to be more transparent on refugees relocation

A grouping under the banner Concerned Malawi Citizens has challenged government to be transparent when relocating all refuges and asylum seekers to Dzaleka Refugee Camp.

Speaking during a press briefing on Monday, Chairperson for the grouping, Wells Khama uploaded Government efforts saying this may be a positive move towards protecting indigenous businessmen as most of the refugees have occupied businesses meant for Malawians.

Khama further asked government to disclose information about the amount of funds allocated to the exercise.

He said they expect government to fully implement the exercise and to ensure that the set timeline is met.

Last week, Government through the ministry of Home Land and Security announced that it intends to relocate refugees from April 15 -27, 2023.
