Police in Ntchisi are keeping in custody a 30- year-old Killian Mkokha for allegedly setting ablaze two houses over a hat (chipewa).
Ntchisi Police Spokesperson Yohane Tasowana, has confirmed of the incident which took place at Kalikuni 2 Village in the district after a certain young boy (name withheld) had allegedly put on a hat similar to his.
Tasowana says thereafter, the suspect asked the boy to give him his hat arguing that it belonged to him and that it contained some charms for his business but the boy refused to do so saying he had bought it own his own.
According to Tasowana, this did not go down well with the Mkokha, who allegedly reacted angirily and set ablaze the two houses belonging to the boy’s parents destroying property valued at K500,000 in the process.
On 17 February, 2018, former President Peter Mutharika Presidential Press Secretary Mgeme Kalilani who was also spokesperson disclosed that authorities have launched a massive manhunt to bring to book individuals behind fake Facebook account of former president Peter Mutharika.
Kalilani hinted that President Mutharika does not have a Facebook account as alleged.
He said the law will take its course once the perpetrators are apprehended.
According to the letter on the page: “Mutharika” is said to have asked Bushiri to consider investing in his home country as it is not worthy to invest overseas.
“So, as the President of Malawi, my door is open to have a dialogue with this powerful man of God, Prophet Bushiri for his investments here in Malawi,” reads the letter in part which was refuted by the State House.
However barely four years Mutharika has come out through the same Facebook page mobilizing Malawians to listen to Voice of America interview with him.
Mutharika has shown to be a dishonest citizens who never doesn’t want to associate himself with truth.

Goshen City has stamped its authority as a key partner in the country’s arts industry by supporting two artists, Gwamba and Piksy, who have released their albums and are currently busy with processes of launching them.
Gospel musician Gwamba is launching his second album, True Independence, in Blantyre on 23rd July 2022 and Goshen City has supported with K15 million. On the other side, rapper Piksy—who launched his Mtunda album in Blantyre and Lilongwe—has been supported with K5 million to help him take the launch to Mzuzu.
Briefing the media in Lilongwe on Friday, deputy chief executive officer of Goshen City Mr Willie Kalonga said the gesture is a potent breakpoint statement to artists globally that they have a partner in Goshen City.

“We don’t want people to see this as Goshen City on one hand and Gwamba and Piksy on the other. We want people to see this as the beginning of a fruitful journey between Goshen City and the arts industry in the globally. In this journey, we will partner with every artist both locally and internationally,” he said.
In his remarks, Gwamba said organizing a concert is financially strenuous as such his management has been knocking on various institutions and individuals’ seeking support and Goshen City is just one of them.
“I am so thankful to Goshen City. In the days coming, we will also be unveiling several other companies that have come forth to support our concert. We always strive to transparent to our sponsors and also to our fans,” he said.
On his part, Piksy said he appreciate the support that has been rendered by Goshen City.
“We hope some organisations will appreciate art as well and support other artists in the country. The art industry can help develop our country and employ many young people if properly handled and provided with support,” he said.

Malawi Police have announced that they have concluded investigations into the death of Rap Icon ,the late Martin Martse Nkhata who died from fire burns in May this year.
During the funeral, the government promised that a full investigation will be done to find out what caused the fire that led to Martse’s death. Deputy national police spokesperson Harry Namwaza in his statement said that the fire that burnt the house which late Nkhata was sleeping in was caused by an illegal electricity connection tapped from a neighbours house.

Martse died at the age of 28 and is largely considered by many as probably the greatest Rapper to grace the Malawi music scene.
Namwaza says police will be sharing the findings of the report with the Nkhatas Family as well as government.
