Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve have been crowned 2021 Thumbs Up Southern Region Football League Championship after beating Sable Farming FC 3-1 in an exciting encounter that took place at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday.

Sable scored first through Humphrey Chimwaza who scored 38 minutes in the first half following a break down in communication between goalkeeper Clever Nkungula and defender White Kisten.

The second half saw Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve equalising through Kesten Simbi from the spot before substitute Emmanuel Savieli doubled the lead in the 69th minute.

Sable Farming tried to get their second goal 10 minutes in the second half but goalkeeper Clever Nkungula made a fantastic save to deny Chimwaza from scoring his second goal.

Bullets Reserve’s last goal came in the 82nd minute from Stanley Biliati who scored inside the penalty box with a brilliant tap in after receiving a pass from Emmanuel Savieli.

Meanwhile Nyasa Big Bullets remain undecided whether to have two teams in the TNM Super League next season following the win of the Reserve side.

In 2019, Reserve won the second-tier league title and got promoted into the TNM Super League but they surrendered their slot to the then second-placed Ntopwa FC, arguing that they could not have two teams in the top flight.
