Scheduled to take place on September 27th in Blantyre, this event promises to be a memorable occasion, honouring exceptional women who are making a positive impact in the country.

“We believe that these women are role models and inspirations to many, and it’s only fitting that we honour their contributions to our society,” Kamwendo said.

Among the prominent women who will be honoured during the event are philanthropists Deborah Mbale, Tusaiwe Munkhondya, and Jacqueline Bokosi. Deborah Mbale, who runs an elderly home under the banner of Mai Mbambande Foundation, has been recognised for her selfless work in caring for the elderly and vulnerable members of society.

Tusaiwe Munkhondya, who is running a charity organisation called You are not alone (YANA), has been acknowledged for her efforts in supporting those in need and promoting social welfare.

Jacqueline Bokosi, the brains behind CTS Courier, will also be honoured for her contributions to the business sector and her role in promoting economic development in Malawi.

These exceptional women are just a few examples of the many Malawian women who are working tirelessly to drive socio-economic development in the country.

Their efforts are a testament to the important role that women play in shaping the future of Malawi.

Vision Pageantry’s decision to honour these women is a significant step towards promoting gender equality and empowering women in Malawi.

By recognising the contributions of these exceptional women, the organisation is sending a powerful message about the importance of women’s roles in society.

The event promises to be a celebration of women’s achievements and a call to action for more Malawians to support and empower women in their communities.

As Malawi continues to strive for socio-economic development, the contributions of women like Deborah Mbale, Tusaiwe Munkhondya, and Jacqueline Bokosi will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the country’s future.

The Vision Pageantry event will bring together prominent figures from across Malawi, including business leaders, policymakers, and community activists.

The event will provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing, with the aim of promoting further development and progress in Malawi.

As the country looks to the future, events like this serve as an important reminder of the critical role that women play in driving socio-economic development.

By honouring exceptional women like Deborah Mbale, Tusaiwe Munkhondya, and Jacqueline Bokosi, Vision Pageantry is helping to promote a culture of recognition and appreciation for the contributions of women in Malawi.

By Burnett Munthali

His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has officially announced that he will present his presidential nomination papers on Friday, July 25, 2025, in Lilongwe.

In his statement, Mutharika expressed deep humility and a steadfast commitment to serve Malawi, describing his decision as both a political step and a sacred call to restore hope, dignity, and purposeful leadership.

He emphasized that the challenges facing Malawi today require experience, vision, and resolute action—qualities he believes are necessary to guide the country through its pressing economic and governance hurdles.

Guided by faith, patriotism, and the trust that Malawians have placed in him over the years, Mutharika affirmed that his decision to contest is not driven by the pursuit of power but by a renewed dedication to public service.

The former president vowed to lead efforts to rebuild a Malawi that works for all citizens, promising to prioritize unity over division and progress over stagnation.

Mutharika extended an open invitation to all Malawians, including DPP supporters, undecided voters, and citizens who believe in a brighter future, urging them to rally behind his vision for national renewal.

He expressed confidence that by working together with courage, determination, and love for the country, Malawians can overcome challenges and chart a new course of development and prosperity.

According to Mutharika, the time for renewal is now, and the time for action is here—a rallying cry aimed at energizing his supporters ahead of the September 2025 general elections.

His announcement signals the re-emergence of one of Malawi’s most experienced political figures, who previously served as president from 2014 to 2020 and remains a key force in shaping the Democratic Progressive Party’s (DPP) electoral strategy.

This move also sets the stage for what could be one of the most competitive and closely watched election campaigns in recent Malawian history, given the political realignments and economic challenges the nation faces.

Closing Analysis

Arthur Peter Mutharika’s decision to contest the presidency once again is likely to galvanize his supporters while stirring political debate across the country.

His emphasis on unity, purposeful leadership, and national renewal resonates strongly at a time when Malawians are grappling with economic difficulties, governance concerns, and rising calls for political change.

The coming weeks will test Mutharika’s ability to mobilize a broad coalition of voters beyond the traditional DPP base and to present a clear alternative to the current administration.

As nomination day approaches, all eyes will be on Lilongwe, where Mutharika’s formal submission of papers will officially mark the beginning of a high-stakes campaign that could redefine Malawi’s political future.
