Fellow Malawians and supporters of the Liberation for Economic Freedom Party (LEFP) have been urged to remain calm and patient amid ongoing political developments concerning the party’s participation in the upcoming general elections.

Party president, Dr. David Mbewe, has acknowledged that while the LEFP has already submitted its nomination papers, the leadership is currently considering a strategic alliance with another political party.

David Mbewe

In a message shared with the public, Mbewe emphasized that discussions surrounding the possible alliance are at an advanced stage.

He further assured supporters that the final decision will be communicated soon, once all negotiations are completed.

“We’re working diligently to finalize the details,” Mbewe stated, reflecting a tone of responsibility and confidence in the process.

He called on his supporters to remain calm and exercise patience as the party navigates this critical juncture in its political journey.

Mbewe expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support and understanding of the LEFP faithful during this period of transition.

As political alliances become a common feature of Malawi’s electoral landscape, such a move could have a significant impact on the upcoming elections.

The LEFP, under Mbewe’s leadership and guided by the #DavidGenerationTeam movement, has positioned itself as a youthful, visionary force committed to economic liberation and social transformation.

The potential alliance could bring about new dynamics in voter behavior and influence outcomes, especially if it aligns with parties that share similar policy agendas and aspirations.

Dr. David Mbewe’s message was clear: unity, strategy, and patience are essential as Malawi inches closer to the polls.
