The late music star Tremour, who left an indelible mark on the Malawian urban music scene, is set to have his legacy live on through his brother Standard One One.
In a recent announcement, Standard One One revealed plans to release four unreleased songs that Tremour recorded before his untimely passing.
According to Standard One One, the songs were completed but never made it to the public due to Tremour’s sudden death. He explained that the upcoming releases are meant to honor his brother’s memory and give fans a final chance to experience the artist’s creativity and message.
“Tremour had finished recording some powerful tracks that he wanted people to hear. As his brother and fellow musician, I feel it’s my duty to share them with the world so that his voice doesn’t fade away,” said Standard One One.
He further disclosed that after releasing the four posthumous songs, he will officially begin working on his own music projects, aiming to continue the family’s musical journey.
“After Tremour’s music is out, I’ll start dropping my own songs. I’ve learned a lot from him, and I want to build on that foundation,” he added.
Fans have welcomed the news with excitement and nostalgia, saying it will be emotional to hear Tremour’s voice again. Many took to social media to express support for Standard One One’s initiative, calling it a beautiful tribute to the fallen artist.
Tremour, who was known for hits like “Mpanipani” and “Chimwemwe,” passed away earlier this year, leaving a void in Malawi’s music industry. His lyrical talent and energetic performances made him one of the country’s most promising artists.
Music insiders say the upcoming releases will likely include collaborations Tremour had started with other artists, as well as solo pieces that showcase his signature blend of hip-hop and Afro-fusion.
The exact release dates for the songs are yet to be announced but Standard One One hinted that the first track could drop before the end of the year.
