Speaking at the rally, the party’s strategic leader, Moses Kunkuyu, called on the public to stop spreading false information, especially on social media platforms.

Kunkuyu specifically urged the people to be wary of fake news propagated by online pages such as Bakili Muluzi TV and Limpopo, warning that these platforms have been spreading misleading information. He pointed out that these outlets were responsible for spreading rumors about the death of the country’s president.

“It is important that we stop listening to lies coming from these fake news outlets. These platforms have been deceiving Malawians, including falsely claiming that our president had passed away,” Kunkuyu said, drawing attention to the need for accurate information.

Speaking just before the president’s address at the awards ceremony, Kumwenda emphasized the profound impact the charity golf event has had on improving the lives of students in need and survivors of natural disasters.

Kumwenda highlighted the president’s presence at the event as a powerful statement of commitment to helping the vulnerable. “Your Excellency, we are deeply grateful for your involvement in this initiative. It has made a significant difference in the lives of students who would otherwise struggle to continue their education, as well as for those who have been affected by natural calamities,” Kumwenda said
