By Vincent Gunde

Veteran freedom fighter and Parliamentarian for Rumphi East constituency Kamlepo Kalua, has advised Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldiers to stay away from  politics so that they should be used by politicians for political gains

Kalua said MDF soldiers are mandated to defend the country from its enemies reminding them that in 2019 they did a commendable job siding with the citizens that were demonstrating in the streets in the electoral justice in court.

He said it is his prayer for the MDF soldiers to continue be a darling of the people as in 2019 and remain in that position and never allow politicians to divide them

Speaking through an audio clip circulating in various social media platforms, Kalua has complained that police are still keeping his mobile phone for reasons that can be best explained by themselves reminding them that there’s nothing to live forever.

Kalua has expressed his sadness that there are alleged threats to life for his son, Penjani Kalua known by the youth as Fredokiss saying his son has committed no offence to the state.

He said the plans were to kill him through poisoning in Ntcheu during a Candlelight Memorial Service for the departed Vice President Dr. Saulosi Chilima warning police officers that if his son is killed, him also is ready to be killed.

The Parliamentarian has advised the Inspector General of Police Madam Yolamu that there have been many IGs before her but have gone and her also will go, do her job professionally so that she lives a good legacy after she turned to be former IG.

“It is very sad that you want to kill my son to be a sacrificial lamb for your positions, kill him and I am monitoring his death, I know who and who have been sent, their wives and residential areas,” said Kalua.

He said during the change from one party state to multiparty democracy, he survived 13 assassination attempts, during the reign of Dr. Bakili Muluzi 8 assassination attempts and two, during Professor Bingu wa Muthariika.

Kalua said he is giving his child to be killed and his blood to be a sacrificial lamb for their positions reminding them that during Ngwazi Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda, the police maintained him as Life President of Malawi but they did not keep his life.

He has finally advised prophets to be always tell the truth for the name of God not to be forsaken and not to use the name of God for personal glories calling for peace, stability and non-violence in Malawi encouraging Malawians to build their country and not destroying it.

Speaking in Lilongwe, Chakwera underscored that farmers are integral to the country’s economy, significantly impacting food security, generating employment, and contributing to export earnings.
