Police arrest woman for defrauding job seekers

Police in Lilongwe  have arrested Lusubilo Kadzombe, the operator of a travel agency named NIF HireHost LTD, for allegedly defrauding job seekers of millions of kwacha in Lilongwe.

According to a statement released on Malawi Police Service Facebook Page, Kadzombe was arrested on Saturday afternoon by the Cybercrime Unit at the National Police Headquarters.

She is reported to have collected money from victims under the pretense of processing visas for overseas job opportunities but failed to deliver on her promises.

She now faces charges of Fraud other than false pretence, contrary to section 319A of the Penal Code  and she is expected to appear in court soon to answer these allegations.

Kadzombe hails from Mwamalopa village, TA Kyungu in Karonga district.

Meanwhile Police have urged people who have engaged with Kadzombe and believes they have been defrauded to report to them immediately.
