Queen Sheba’s “Beans” Sparks Heated Debate Among Music Lovers

By Rahim Abdul

Queen Sheba’s newly released song titled Beans has ignited mixed reactions among music lovers with many listeners sharply divided over its message and lyrical content.

Since its release, the song has quickly become a topic of discussion on social media and in public spaces with some praising its boldness while others criticize it for crossing cultural and moral boundaries.

The controversy largely stems from the opening lines of the song, which use provocative language to question why certain explicit content, particularly involving women exposing their private parts, continues to circulate widely on social media platforms.

Through these lyrics, the song appears to highlight a growing trend in which some women post explicit images online, a practice that the song suggests gives men opportunities to record, share and exploit such content further.

In one section of the track, Queen Sheba also takes aim at men, criticizing those who fail to control their desires after encountering explicit images, leading them into reckless behavior with serious consequences.

The song further implies that such lack of self control can result in legal trouble, including arrest and court appearances, emphasizing the social and legal risks associated with irresponsible actions.

Reacting to the song, Jannet Banda said she was shocked by the content, stating that she did not expect a female artist like Queen Sheba to release a song she feels undermines the dignity of women.

Banda added that, in her view, the song does not reflect the respect that women should uphold for themselves and for society at large.

Another listener, Phionah Kachisa, offered a more detailed interpretation, saying the song tackles two sensitive issues at once: women who expose themselves on social media and men who fail to restrain themselves.

Kachisa noted that the song also appears to condemn men who engage in illegal relationships with underage girls, suggesting that despite the controversy, Beans attempts to address serious social problems through music.
