Secretary General for the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Richard Chimwendo Banda has urged party followers in Lilongwe to go in large numbers on polling day and vote for Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera as President of this country.
Speaking at a huge crowd gathered at Mkwinda Admarc Ground Sunday after Chimwendo echoed that registering to vote is another thing but what is needed most is to patronize in large numbers on the polling day.

“I know Lilongwe we have done so very good in registering for voting with numbers reaching to 1.3 million but I come here to encourage you to go and vote for our beloved Chakwera so that he can continue transforming this country,” he said.
In his remarks Regional chairperson for the centre Patrick Zebron Chilondola has urged all party aspiring members to embrace unity among themselves ahead of September 16 general elections.
He said that before primary elections aspiring members had camps to support them to win now that it is over they have to unite for one goal.
“Everyone needs to heal from the past primary elections, I believe people had pains from loosing now it’s time to unite and work together,” he said.
We are going everywhere with the our mighty secretary general with one message let’s unite and forge ahead to support Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera come September 16 general elections.
“We had a meeting with all aspiring members before primary elections advising them although they are many but only few can make it and that those should be supported for one course,” Chilondola further said.
He added that as the party they will not support any form of divisions in the party as MCP is the party know to be of unity.
