The University of Malawi (UNIMA) has launched the Malawi Journal of Politics and Public Affairs, a collaborative effort between the Department of Political and Administrative Studies and the Political Science Association of Malawi. The journal aims to provide in-depth analysis and insights into Malawi’s politics and governance.
Speaking at the launch on Saturday,UNIMA’s Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sunduzgwao Madise, highlighted the importance of staying informed about politics and governance.

Dr. Madise noted that many Malawians struggle to follow important issues due to a lack of resources on the country’s politics.
The journal features expert analysis and research on various aspects of Malawi’s politics and governance.
Dr. Henry Chingaipe, President of the Political Scientists Association of Malawi, emphasized that the journal will provide answers to many unanswered questions about Malawi’s politics.
The journal will be published twice a year, with researchers working on each issue for about five months. The next issue, due in December, will focus on the September 16th elections.
Dr. Madise clarified that the authors are experts in politics and governance, not politicians, and their contributions will provide a nuanced understanding of Malawi’s political landscape.
The Malawi Journal of Politics and Public Affairs is expected to become a valuable resource for scholars, policymakers, and the general public.
