A recent meeting held on November 17, 2025, has raised questions about the integrity of a fund, with all attendees, except for the sellers, being appointees of of former Secretary to the President Collen Zamba.
The meeting, which has sparked controversy, was attended by Chizaso Nyirongo, Chairperson of The Fund, who was appointed by Zamba in January 2025.
Idrissa Mwale, a Trustee of the Fund, was also present, having been appointed by Zamba in January 2025.
Another Trustee, Yonah Phiri, was also in attendance, having received his appointment from Zamba in January 2025.
Boyd Hamela, Acting Principal Officer, was also part of the meeting, having been appointed by Zamba.
The composition of the attendees has led to allegations of Zamba’s influence and potential corruption, with many wondering how decisions were made.
The post, which was shared on the wall of Wakulu CDE Julius Zimwanda, reads “Mithi Mbava zija ndi zimenezi!”, implying that Zamba’s men are involved in shady dealings.
The allegations have sparked outrage, with many calling for an investigation into the matter.
The committee, which has been referred to as “Zamba’s boys”, is facing scrutiny over its dealings and decisions.
