By Rahim Abdul

The first anniversary memorial celebrations for the late Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima will be a poignant tribute to his life and legacy.

On June 10, Nsipe Ground in Ntcheu district will host a special event featuring performances by several talented artists.

The lineup includes Saul Chembezi, Zembani Band, Ethel Kamwendo Banda, Evance Meleka, St Cecilia Choir, and Area 18 Catholic Choir, who will perform songs that celebrate Chilima’s life and impact

. According to Felix Njawala, UTM publicity secretary, the artists will perform songs that celebrate a life that meant so much to a generation.

Njawala also mentioned that arrangements are still being finalized, with hopes of also including Lulu and Black Missionaries in the event.

“Each year, we will have artists performing, along with prayers and short sermons,” Njawala explained.

The event will also include prayers and short sermons, providing a meaningful way to honor Chilima’s memory.

The Chilima family has organized the morning prayers, while Friends of SKC will lead the performances in the afternoon.

The memorial celebrations will be a fitting tribute to Saulos Chilima, who tragically lost his life in a plane crash in Chikangawa Forest on June 10, 2024.
